Top-up Security Officer Training

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

 

All delegates that attend this course must have a First Aid qualification before you can complete this course. We are able to provide this training in addition to the Top-up training. Please note that the minimum requirement is an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (1-day) with at least 12 months of validity remaining. 

COURSE SYLLABUS 

The training is separated into two Units:

Unit 1 - Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry

  • Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat

Unit 2: Principles of Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry

  • Know how to minimise risk to personal safety at work
  • Know what actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incident

COURSE DETAILS

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 6 hours of learning. The 6 hours of learning comprises of a minmum of 1 hour and 50 minutes contact time plus pre course self-study.

 

Full details and the pre-course self-study work will be sent out to you and must be completed before the training date.

 

The Top-up training can be delivered at our dedicated training facilities throughout the UK, but can also be delivered at your work premises (subject to meeting the requirements).

  • Delivery contact time training, plus pre course distance learning
  • Emergency First Aid training (if required)
  • All training aids, including handbooks
  • SIA approved Top-up training completion certification

Please note that an SIA licence is required following successful completion of the training to work as a Security Officer.
