Physical Intervention Training

SIA Approved Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry

TRAINING OVERVIEW

This course provides enhanced knowledge and confidence in how to deal with more active resistance by utilising safe and effective escort and control methods.  Training also incorporates tactics on how to effectively deal with individuals who do not respond to communication and despite low level control efforts still pose a clear and present danger.

This course provides a wider range of non-violent options for dealing with the most common scenarios involving physical contact.  It does not offer a technique to cover every possible situation, but provides a solid foundation in terms of knowledge and skills to further reduce risk to themselves and others.

Not only do holders of the SIA licence themselves face the danger of becoming a victim of assault but they also risk potential prosecution and loss of their SIA licence if they are found guilty of assaulting others.  Recent high-profile cases have also shown how both the providers of security operatives and owner/operators can be held liable for their acts or omissions.
