Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition either themselves or a family member, friend or colleague.
This 1 day course is suitable for those who wish to undertake the role of a first aider for mental health.
The role of a first aider for mental health is to provide basic mental health support or to be the first response to someone in need, usually in the workplace. The first aider for mental health is not clinically qualified to assess, diagnose or treat mental ill health but they will know the basic tools to listen to individuals who require first response support for their mental health.
Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

COURSE DETAILS
This 1 day course is delivered at your premises if suitable, or alternatively can be delivered at one of our dedicated training facilities throughout the UK.
Our training facilities include modern, fully equipped training rooms with comprehensive training equipment and dedicated ‘break out’ areas; on site admin support and ample car parking.
A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.
Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health (RQF).
It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training.
