First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC 3)
Course Overview
The QA Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) is an Ofqual regulated and nationally recognised qualification, ideal for those looking to work or volunteer as a first responder. The course covers the full range of skills required by the HSE for first aid, and is the leading qualification for events cover. For those with further ambitions, it also forms the first step towards a career in prehospital care.
Among the first to arrive at a scene, first responders typically include police officers, firefighters, and those providing medical cover at festivals and events such as Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives and Security Guards as well as those working in high risk environments including the military, power stations, nuclear sites, agriculture, and manufacturing.
This informative, hands-on 5-day course is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care –The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D, providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations.
Successful learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be able to deal with a wide range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airway; catastrophic bleeding; management of fractures; medical emergencies; and much more!
As specialist trainers, we understand that empowering learners in realistic environments and allowing them to experience certain situations first-hand will help them get the most out of the training experience. It is for that reason that we recommend this training to be delivered at our client's site in the learners' natural environment and workplace where appropriate. We can also facilitate this training in one of our dedicated training facilities.
